The Ilion Police Department in Herkimer County, New York has gone “LIVE” with the IMPACT® Records Management System, replacing the SJS software from NYS DCJS. Dennis Labriola, President and CEO of IMPACT states, “Ilion PD is the second department in Herkimer County using IMPACT joining the City of Little Falls. They are also part of a regional information sharing cooperative with other IMPACT users in Fulton County, Montgomery County and Saratoga County”. “The transition to IMPACT from SJS has been a very well planned and organized”, affirms Police Chief Tim Parisi. “We were well aware of the IMPACT system’s capabilities as neighboring departments have been very successful with the technology, they also touted the service. So, when it became time for us to make a decision to replace the out-of-date SJS system, we knew exactly what we wanted to implement. Even the procurement was easy as IMPACT was available on State Contract.” The configuration of this deployment includes similar modules to those offered in the current SJS system as well as the IMPACT TRACs interface, the IMPACT Livescan interface, data conversion, training and availability to link to the NY-DEX information sharing systems at DCJS. IMPACT serves over 150 NY State Public Safety entities, more than any other private sector firm, and has the ability to address the specific requirements of SJS Users.
